Sierra Mental Wellness Group provides professional and affordable mental health counseling and crisis services. We seek to provide innovative as well as traditional approaches to solve problems and to address the identified need of the people in and around San Luis Obispo County.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term, brief crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Perform mental health assessments and 5150 evaluations
- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team for treatment and discharge planning
- Provide referrals and linkage to community resources and follow-up care
- Complete forms with clients who are to receive ongoing mental health services
- Assist behavioral health clients in obtaining social and other human services
- Communicate directly and effectively with other agencies, community partners and support persons
- Attend all training required for job duties
- Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Licensing Requirements:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following educational/experience criteria:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field
- Licensed or licensed-eligible with the Board of Behavioral Sciences

- i.e. Licensed/Associate Clinical Psychologist, Licensed/Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed/Associate Social Worker, Licensed/Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
- Note, clinical supervision is provided for SMWG employees who are registered with the BBS as an associate and classified as full-time employee
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct practice experience in a human service agency providing counseling, crisis-related experience preferred

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $37 - $40 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday
