Welcome to Central Coast CAMFT!
I am honored to serve as the President of our local chapter. After 8 years of service as your Secretary, I decided to step up as President with the goal of keeping our chapter vibrant and alive! Serving on the board has been an enriching experience for me personally and professionally. As we all know, our profession involves a lot of giving and can be isolating at times. I have found that connecting with colleagues, supporting one another, and attending quality trainings provided by our local chapter have been key in providing a sense of community and preventing burnout.
I believe in the value of our board, our community, and our profession. Our goal as CCC-CAMFT leadership is to provide community, support, resources, and learning opportunities for our therapist community while having fun and building relationships. In addition, we are committed to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our profession and community at large.
We appreciate your service as a therapist and my hope is that, as a board, we can be there for you in meaningful ways. Whether it’s supporting you on your journey to licensure, helping to build your private practice through referrals, getting to know you/your agency at our January networking meeting, joining us in November for our annual self-care workshop, or earning CEUs at our Law and Ethics workshop, we hope to provide something of value to everyone.
For now, we will continue to provide quality trainings via webinar and look forward to resuming in-person workshops when the timing is right. The board is currently exploring ways to increase accessibility to our workshops, including providing more webinars and offering trainings on different days/times. We miss connecting with you in person and wish you all safety and good health!
For chapter members, we are grateful and want you to know that your membership is what helps us thrive as a chapter. For those coming to us for the first time, welcome! Please know that events are open to the public and you do not have to be a member in order to become involved.
I hope to connect with you at a virtual training/gathering or in person in the near future. I am open to feedback so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have an idea, need for support, or input on how we can do better as a board.
Warmly,
Kim Richards, LMFT
