Mental Health Professional Retreat

We are excited to host our first annual Mental Health Professionals Retreat for our amazing community and those who wish to travel to join us. This event will be held at the Cliff's hotel in Pismo Beach, a beautiful venue with ocean views and beach access. We will have a keynote speaker seminar, catered lunch, dinner and brunch, coffee/tea networking hour, and your choice of a break out session of yoga, sound healing, walk on the beach or connection with each other. There are also options for spa appointments that are not included in this registration but are encouraged. Hotel rooms are available and we encourage you to book your stay as soon as possible so they are not sold out if you wish to stay over night. 

The schedule is listed below:

Saturday, September 28th
12-1 - Lunch and meet and greet
1:30-3:30 - Key note speaker seminar
3:30-4:30 - Coffee/Tea Networking Hour
4:30-6 - Break out groups (yoga, sound healing, spa treatments, walks on beach, etc.)
7:30-9:30 - Dinner and connection

Sunday, September 29th
10-11:30 - Farewell brunch
11:30-12:30 - Access to beach for last moments of connection to self and others

Dr. Shannon Curry, PsyD, MSCP

Healing the Healer, Overcoming Trauma and Rediscovering Joy in Therapy

Join us for a profound exploration into the unique challenges therapists and wellness providers face when dealing with their own traumas and professional burnout. Dr. Curry's presentation will dive into how personal traumas can deeply affect providers professional lives and identities. Dr. Curry will share her personal experiences and holistic practices she has adopted, blending them with traditional and psychological therapies to reclaim joy and effectiveness in her practice.

Participants will gain practical strategies to rejuvenate their work and personal well-being, enabling them to thrive as both individuals and caregivers.

About our Presenter:

Dr. Curry is a clinical and forensic psychologist who brings 15 years of experience and psychological research, therapeutic intervention and forensic evaluation, with an emphasis on trauma, violence and relationship dynamics.

As the founder and executive directly of Curry Psychology Group, Dr. Curry oversees a preeminent mental health center in Orange County, CA. Her clinical work includes contracts with the department of defense, engaging with various charitable and trauma-centered organizations and providing pro-bono therapy services to Afghan refugees and other trauma survivors.

In her forensic capacity, Dr. Curry regularly serves as an expert witness and independent evaluator for various legal entities and provides forensic evaluations for both civil and criminal cases with issues related to trauma and violence (this is why you may recognize her from the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial).

Robyn Brinkerhoff, MS 
Robyn is the owner of Empower Yoga 805 and brings 24 years of expertise and passion to the work she does.
Robyn is passionate about blending both science and spirituality and brings both lightness and joy to her yoga practices for all bodies and levels. 

Sound Healing and Connection Breakout Session

Kim Braget
Kim is a Reiki master teacher and sound bath facilitator with years of experience in the healing arts. Her practice is rooted in commitment to facilitate profound energetic shifts through reiki and sound baths. Attendees will be enveloped in the calming vibrations of various instruments, promoting deep relaxation and energetic balance. 

Spa Treatment Breakout Session

The Cliffs Spa
*These treatments are separate from the retreat fee and will need to be booked separately and in advance to insure appointments are available.
Massages, facials, body treatments and more. Spa treatments include all day access to the oceanfront heated pool and hot tub, complimentary glass of champagne, finish-style dry sauna with refreshing iced towel, herbal tea, infused spa water, and healthy snacks. Robes, slippers, and lockers with luxury restrooms are provided with all the essential amenities.

Refund Policy

Refund policy for all events: Registrants who do not attend or fail to cancel registration seven days prior to scheduled event will be charged full fee. The only exception will be for registrants who are unable to attend due to an emergency.
